The mission of SBA includes the objective of maintaining ". . . a sense of responsibility for social justice in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy." We are committed to preparing individuals for a lifetime of intellectual exploration, personal growth, and an awareness of responsibility for social justice. An integral part of school life, community service plays an important role in achieving this aim.

Whether as individuals working at a shelter or in support of a community project, or as a community of learners working as a group to collect food or raise money for those in need as the need arises as in the case of earth quake, tsunami, or hurricane, SBA's students learn to appreciate and share in the life of their larger community.
